Dear Participants, Partners, and Collaborators,

After its birth in Africa with the support of EDCTP and its growth in Europe, especially in collaboration with EUREC, TRREE is now developing its activities in Asia. For instance, we are working on a Chinese version of the e-Learning program in collaboration with the National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.

Today we are also proud to announce the execution of a new and unique Collaboration Agreement with the Clinical Trials Centre of The University of Hong Kong (HKUCTC). The objective of this collaboration is to promote the principles of ethics and regulations of health and medical research involving human participants through TRREE to research personnel involved in human research worldwide, especially those in Asia, Middle East and North Africa.

The key elements are that HKUCTC will contribute directly to the maintenance and future development of TRREE, and also integrate TRREE into its own on-site clinical research training programme for the Asian & MENA region. For instance, HKUCTC has already helped TRREE update all the modules. We will also work together for attaining a better recognition of TRREE as a high-quality GCP training programme within the clinical research community and the pharmaceutical industry, while maintaining its independence and strong academic position.

Last but not least, under this new collaboration, TRREE will launch in the coming months a Hong Kong Local Supplement that will provide direct access to Hong Kong’s human research legislation, regulations and ethical standards.

We are excited about this new development that is likely to contribute to improving the protection of research participants as well as to the quality of research in the region and worldwide.

We look forward to seeing you soon on TRREE!

Best, Cordialement,
