Account & Access

1. How do I create an account on TRREE?

Go to our login page https://elearning.trree.org/login/ and click "Create new account." Fill in the registration form and confirm your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox. Once confirmed, you will be able to browse and enroll in modules.

2. I did not receive my registration confirmation email. What should I do?

First, check your spam or junk folder. If the email is not there, contact our support team with the email address you used during registration, and we will verify your account status.

3. I forgot my username or password. How do I recover my account?

Use the password reset tool here: https://elearning.trree.org/login/forgot_password.php

Enter your email address in the "Search by email address" field (second one). A reset link will be sent to you if your address is on file.

If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your account, contact our support team to update your information.

Modules & Progress

4. How do I access the GCP content (Module 4)?

You must first successfully complete Modules 1, 2, and 3 with a score greater than 70%.

Please note that modules 1, 2 and 3 were replaced in December 2023 and are the new prerequisites to access the GCP content. Therefore, if you had completed your training before that date, you will need to redo Modules 1, 2, and 3 to unlock access to Module 4.

5. I completed the prerequisites (Modules 1, 2, and 3) but I still cannot access the GCP content. What should I do?

It may take a few minutes for the system to update your progress and unlock the GCP material. Please wait up to one hour. If access is still not granted after that time, contact our support team by email.

6. I failed my first attempt at a module. Can I retake it?

Yes. You may reattempt any module at any time. Your highest grade will be recorded.

7. I completed a module, but my progress does not seem to be saved. What happened?

Your progress is saved automatically as you go through each activity. You are free to leave your training at any time. However, when you come back to a module, make sure your answer "YES" when asked if you want to continue where you had left off, otherwise you will need to start over.

Make sure you reach the absolute end of the module — you must navigate through every page all the way to the final screen for your completion to be recorded and your certificate to be generated.

Leaving a module before reaching its very last page, even if most of the content was viewed, will prevent grading from being triggered (and will not release your certificate).

8. Can I complete modules on a mobile device or tablet?

Yes, the TRREE platform is accessible from any modern web browser on desktop, tablet, or smartphone (although not recommended). For the best experience, we recommend using an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. Some features may work better on a larger screen.

9. Which GCP version should I take — Module 4R2 (ICH-GCP R2) or Module 4R3 (ICH-GCP R3)?

In January 2025, the ICH-GCP Revision 3 (R3) guidelines were adopted to reflect lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and recent advances in research ethics and regulation.

At the time this FAQ was prepared (May 1st, 2026), R3 was already in force in several regions including the European Union, Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. It is being implemented in a growing number of countries as of 2026, while some may still apply R2 during a transition period.

Participants are strongly encouraged to verify which version (R2 or R3) currently applies in their country before selecting a module.

10. I already completed a GCP training elsewhere. Is there an equivalence with TRREE certificates?

No. TRREE Module 4 GCP certificates are not equivalent to any other GCP training. You must complete Module 4 GCP (R2 or R3) on the TRREE platform, along with the prerequisites: Modules 1, 2, and 3 (score > 70%).

Certificates & Payment

11. Where can I get my certificates of completion?

TRREE certificates (PDF format) are available for download on each module's introduction page. They are released upon successful completion of the corresponding module (score > 70%).

Certificates are issued on a per module basis. TRREE does not deliver an aggregated certificate (indicating all the modules completed).

Participants from Nigeria will receive their certificates by email through our Nigerian Partner within 24-48 hours after completing their training.

12. Do TRREE certificates have an expiry date?

TRREE does not set a fixed expiry date on its certificates, as their validity depends on updates to international and local regulations, which are unpredictable and not periodic.

Some employers or sponsors require investigators to renew their TRREE/GCP training regularly (typically every 2–3 years). The date of your most recent successful module completion will appear on the downloadable PDF certificate.

13. How-much does the training cost?

All the training on TRREE is free. However, for participants from high-income economies (as identified in the 2016 World Bank's list), there is a 58 CHF charge to download the certificates for the GCP modules and/or the Swiss Regulatory Framework.

Participants doing the GCP module (R2 or R3) -AND- the Swiss module don't need to pay twice. One payment covers both.

14. How can I change my name on my certificates?

To prevent fraud, name changes cannot be made directly through the platform. Please contact our support team by email — you may be asked to provide a valid government-issued ID.

15. My certificates appear to be password protected. What should I do?

No password is required to open, view, print, or share TRREE certificates. If you are prompted for a password, download the PDF to your computer first and open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader or compatible software — do not open it directly in your browser. Contact our support desk if the problem persists.

16. I don't have a PayPal account. How can I pay for my certificates?

You do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit card through PayPal — simply select the credit card option at checkout. If you prefer a wire transfer, please contact our support desk for our banking details.
