Dear TRREE participants and friends,
Last year, CIOMS launched a broad consultation on a draft revision of its 2002 ethical guidelines. The consultation ended on February 29, 2016. The CIOMS working group should reunite in June this year to review the numerous position statements that were send to the organization. Depending on the outcomes, CIOMS could then adopt a revised version of its ethical guidelines by the end of the year. Considering the importance of the CIOMS guidelines in the ethical framework of research involving human participants, TRREE prepared a position statement that represents the collective views of the TRREE Consortium. The group of contributors is composed of specialists with an interest in the subject of the revision, and expert knowledge in the topics covered under the draft provisions. You can find a copy of their comments in the document attached below.
A special thank you is made to the following contributors for their writing, comments and assistance in establishing this written position statement: Dominique Sprumont, University of Neuchatel (Switzerland); Samia Hurst, University of Geneva (Switzerland); Claire Leonie Ward, University of Basel (Switzerland); Éloïse Gennet, University of Aix-Marseille (France) and University of Basel (Switzerland); Pollyanna Gontijo, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte (Brazil); Jean-Marc Biquet, University of Geneva and The Graduate Institute (Switzerland).
Best regards,
Dominique Sprumont
